Arrangements

Depending upon the system configuration, SSS will advise on the Clutch design and arrangement. Considerations can include available space, the plant bearings, shaft alignment, rotor dynamics, oil supply, system expansion characteristics, fault torques and thrust forces.

Typical arrangments are as folllows:

  • Foot mounted (Encased) Clutches
  • Self lubricated
  • Pressure lubricated
  • Shaft mounted Clutches
  • Clutch Couplings - directly replaces double element membrane coupling
  • Spacer Clutch - directly replaces double element gear coupling
  • Semi-Rigid - for integrated system for example within a gearbox or steam turbine or generator
