Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plant with a single shaft arrangement is an efficient and widely used process that uses gas and steam turbines to drive a double ended generator in order to generate electricity.
The process recovers the exhaust heat energy created by the gas turbine, via a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), and converts it into useful steam. The steam can then be used to power the steam turbine, which in turn increases electricity production and overall plant efficiency.
